About RenoMatch for Contractors

RenoMatch connects qualified contractors with homeowners seeking renovation services across Canada. As a contractor on our platform, you gain access to pre-qualified leads and potential customers in your service area.

1. Contractor Definitions

"Lead" - homeowner contact information and project details provided to you

"Lead Fee" - payment for access to homeowner contact information

"Service Area" - the geographic region where you provide services

"Profile" - your contractor listing on our platform

"Direct Contract" - agreement between you and the homeowner for services

2. Contractor Eligibility and Verification

To join RenoMatch as a contractor, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in Canada
  • Possess all required licenses and permits for your trade and location
  • Maintain appropriate business insurance coverage
  • Provide accurate business information and credentials
  • Have a legitimate business presence (website, business registration, etc.)
  • Agree to background verification checks as required

3. Lead Distribution and Fees

Lead Access: When a homeowner submits a project request matching your services and location, you may be selected to receive their contact information and project details.

Lead Fees: Access to homeowner leads may require payment of lead fees. Fee structures and amounts will be clearly communicated before you receive any lead information.

No Guarantee: Payment for leads does not guarantee you will be hired by the homeowner. Lead fees are for access to contact information only.

4. Contractor Obligations

As a contractor on RenoMatch, you agree to:

  • Respond to leads promptly and professionally
  • Provide accurate quotes and project timelines
  • Maintain all required licenses, insurance, and certifications
  • Comply with all applicable building codes and regulations
  • Treat homeowner information confidentially
  • Not use leads for any purpose other than providing quotes
  • Maintain professional standards in all communications
  • Complete contracted work to industry standards
  • Handle disputes with homeowners professionally and fairly

5. Profile and Marketing

Your contractor profile may include business information, photos, reviews, and other marketing content. You grant RenoMatch permission to display this information to potential customers and use it in our marketing materials.

You are responsible for ensuring all profile content is accurate, current, and does not violate any third-party rights.

6. Reviews and Ratings

Homeowners may leave reviews and ratings about your services. You agree that:

  • Reviews reflect individual customer experiences and opinions
  • RenoMatch may display reviews publicly on your profile
  • You will not attempt to manipulate or falsify reviews
  • Disputes about reviews should be addressed through our support process

7. Payment Terms

Lead Fees: Payment for leads is due upon receipt of homeowner contact information. Fees are non-refundable except in cases of system error or duplicate leads.

Service Payments: All payments for actual renovation services are handled directly between you and the homeowner. RenoMatch is not involved in service payments.

8. Prohibited Conduct

You may not:

  • Circumvent our platform to avoid fees
  • Share or resell lead information to other contractors
  • Create multiple accounts or false profiles
  • Engage in bait-and-switch pricing practices
  • Harass or spam potential customers
  • Provide services outside your stated qualifications
  • Violate any applicable professional or trade regulations

9. Insurance and Liability

Required Insurance: You must maintain appropriate business liability insurance, workers' compensation (if applicable), and any other insurance required by law or industry standards.

Contractor Liability: You are solely responsible for the quality, safety, and legality of all services you provide. RenoMatch is not liable for any issues arising from your work.

10. Account Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your contractor account for:

  • Violation of these terms
  • Poor customer reviews or complaints
  • Failure to maintain required licenses or insurance
  • Fraudulent or unprofessional conduct
  • Non-payment of lead fees

11. Limitation of RenoMatch Liability

RenoMatch's liability to contractors is limited to the amount of lead fees paid in the 30 days prior to any claim. We are not liable for lost business opportunities, indirect damages, or issues arising from your direct contracts with homeowners.

12. Governing Law

These contractor terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and federal Canadian law. Disputes will be resolved through the courts of Ontario or binding arbitration for amounts under $25,000 CAD.
